Central Methodist Church Launceston

reaching out with Christ at the Centre

All Church Services and Social Meetings are currently cancelled due to the Corona Virus Pandemic

Service sheets have been produced by the Methodist Church and will be provided each week on this site.
We are encouraging chapels to use this at the same time as their chapel service would have been on Sunday
so that we feel that we are still worshipping together, although not physically being together.

Circuit Weekly Services
During the pandemic, Services adapted for no physical congregation will be live streamed from Wesley’s Chapel in London
Service times: Wednesday 12:45; Thursday 12:45 ; Sunday 9:45 and 11:00.

Launceston Street Pastors

streetpastors logo Churches in Launceston together with the Town Council and Police met to discuss and agreed the social action initiative, Street Pastors. (http://www.streetpastors.co.uk/).

Street Pastors is an inter-denominational Church response to urban problems, engaging with people on the streets to care, listen and dialogue usually from 10pm – 3am on Friday’s and Saturday’s.

It was pioneered in London in January 2003 by Rev Les Isaac, Director of the Ascension Trust, and has seen some remarkable results, including drops in crime in areas where teams have been working. There are now some 9000 trained volunteers in around 250 teams around the United Kingdom.

Launceston Street Pastors is established on the streets of Launceston and Night Club area. There are substantial ongoing costs needed for equipment, training and uniforms and we are asking local businesses if they would kindly be able to support this initiative, through donations or sponsorship.

If you are able to help in this way, it would be greatly appreciated. We look forward to hearing from you. Our email address is This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
