Youth Work

Wow so much seems to have happened and is coming up. Its been a few months now since Tim left and although it created a hole and we miss him we have managed and continue to grow the youth work. So where are we at the moment.

Junior High

Powerhouse Junior High – Junior High really is starting to take on a different and new feel as we look at changing the atmosphere of the meeting room and just bring more media into it.We have a core group of 6 but we will see that grow as we really want to see more cohesion between this and namesake.

Powerhouse Connect

This is an exciting group that remains steady. It has been really exciting to get some of the young people running these sessions. We are encouraging the young people to feed back into church and youth using their giftings, so a very exciting time.

NEW Powerhouse Heart

This is our girls group ages 14+ who meet on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday nights from 7.30-9pm. We like to mix things up a bit, from beauty nights to diva nights to ice cream nights and movie nights to Bible Studies and devoti onal nights. Needless to say I don’t run this but it is run by Mandee my lovely wife.

NEW 5 A-Side

What is our 5 a-side ministry? Basically what this is, is loads of testosterone fuelled men running around a MUGA or indoor sports hall, kicking a football

Why do we do it?

The reason we do it is that we want to enjoy ourselves and meet outside of church and meet other people that don’t go to church and play football.

Where does God and Church fit into this?

Basically we as Christians believe that God doesn’t just fit in but makes up the very core of our being and therefore he is basically there hanging out with us as well. Church fits in well because when we spend time hanging out with other Christians then we are doing church, it doesn’t have to be in a building. The first one happens on July 31st 8pm at the MUGA near the medical centre.
