New Developments in our Pastoral Care at Central

Why are we changing things at all?
Caring for each other is at the heart of the Christian message. The system of pastoral care in our church has been for the Pastoral Visitor to have responsibility for several people – keeping in touch with each one, providing support and encouragement as needed.
However, the Pastoral Team feel it is time for all who are able in our church to share some of the responsibility for ‘keeping in touch’. This already happens naturally for most with existing friendships, groups, neighbours etc. With this in mind, the Pastoral Team have rearranged all their lists of members and adherents into smaller groups, which we are calling ‘bubbles’.
How will this work? – So, what are these “Bubbles”?
The households allocated to each bubble have been considered carefully and, where possible, are grouped with existing friendships, contacts, neighbours etc. This has not been possible for everyone but please remember that even if someone is not in your bubble it doesn’t mean you can’t remain in close contact with them! Also, we would encourage you to make new friendships with those that are in your bubble.
Keeping in Touch with Each Other
There will be a ‘nominated contact’ for each bubble – just for ease of communication with the Pastoral Secretary when information needs to be passed on. This person is NOT a pastoral visitor – everyone (who is able) in the bubble has equal responsibility for supporting each other, keeping in touch and also raising any concerns you may have about a person’s welfare so any appropriate action can be taken.
Who’s in my bubble?
Your nominated contact will be able to give you a list of those in your bubble. If you have any concerns, questions or feel you should be in a different bubble, please feel free to speak to your nominated contact, the Pastoral Secretary or Minister.
