Summer 2024
On a warm and sunny Monday, 12th August 2024, the Fellowship group enjoyed a wonderful trip to St Peters Church at Lewtrenchard, situated part way between Launceston and Okehampton. It is a small beautiful church steeped in much history, not least its connection with the extraordinary Sabine Baring-Gould (1834-1924).
You can read a full description of his extraordinary life here. (https://greatenglishchurches.co.uk/html/lewtrenchard.html)
Wikipaedia describes him as “English hagiographer, antiquarian, novelist and eclectic scholar. His bibliography lists more than 1240 separate publications, including “Onward Christian Soldiers” and also extensive works on Devon and Cornwall including folksongs of these counties – this he regarded as his greatest achievement.
The minster of St Peters, the Revd Philip Conway showed us around the church and grounds and gave us a lively and very informative talk on the church from its very beginnings to the present day.
After the visit Rev Philip joined us for tea and refreshments at Lifton Methodist Church where Anne Rowe and Revds. Howard & Anne Curnow welcomed us. It was a truly special afternoon which as usual had been meticulously organised by Jenny Worth. Thank you Jenny

On Wednesday 26th July 2024 the Fellowship group enjoyed a trip to the town and wonderful beach area of Bude in north Cornwall. On a very hot day, with a gentle cooling breeze, the group enjoyed a Cornish ice cream and walking to the beach.
On the way home we all called off for tea and cake at the Bude ‘Holmeleigh Garden Centre’.
As usual our thanks go to Jenny Worth and her team for all the work organising the event.

On Wednesday 9th August 2023 the Fellowship group enjoyed a trip to the Tavistock Methodist Church. The group enjoyed learning the history of the church and enjoying fellowship with church members. As usual our thanks go to Jenny Worth and her team for all the work organising the event.

On Wednesday 12th July 2023 the Fellowship group enjoyed a trip to the Boscastle and Crackington Haven areas. On the trip the group enjoyed a tea together in the Boscastle Farm Shop. Our thanks go to Jenny Worth for all her work organising the event.
On Wednesday 7th December 2022 the Fellowship group enjoyed a Christmas dinner together at the Trethorne Leisure Park. Our thanks go to Jenny Worth for all her work organising the event.
